Is it wrong to eat meat?

Are you eating meat?

If you eat meat then does the question arise in your mind that do you have to eat meat or not? I also eat meat because the whole of my Family eats meat except my grandmother and she does not eat from birth. But I saw my grandmother has difficulty eating food also when meat was cooked in the house even far from the kitchen. She separated all the utensils to cook and eat meat and fish. After eating and cooking meat and fish, utensils should be kept separately.

Actually, all the people in the Maithili culture keeping some utensils, to use in any festivals or pooja, or any spiritual ceremony separately, and others are used to eat meat or fish.

Generally, people avoid eating fish or meat during any spiritual ceremony or pooja except sacrificed animals especially ‘goat’ to God.

My grandmother used to tell me food containing fish or meat is a meal or food of the demon not for humans (i.e. Rakshashi bhojan). So, one question arises generally in my mind from childhood, that why should we not eat meat like other food freely? Is it not good? should we eat meat or not? Eating meat is good or not?

Biology explained ‘people have 4 canine teeth, two in upper and two in lower jaws, those canine teeth are very hard to break hard substance and that type of teeth are found in flesh-eating animals like lion and tiger only. So humans may use these teeth for flesh-eating.

The sacrifice of an animal to God

In my view, the human-made custom-like sacrifice of an animal to God is just to eat for the taste of the tongue only. That custom is advantageous for nature also balancing the food-chain and human to taste of tongue for sometimes, otherwise, humans started to eat meat generally all of the time rather than occasionally (Sacrificing of an animal). But nowadays that happens, this custom was suitable for the past time but now we are in the twenty-first-century of modern science.

And one interesting thing is that human sacrifice only those animals that are weak and easy to kill.

Meat as food

Living things and their level of sense

If we will think from one point of biology then all living things are the same for nature either human, goat, hen, or plants. So rice, pulses, etc which we call vegetarian and egg, fish, chicken, mutton, etc all should be the same. The only limit of senses are different, that is, human has the highest level of senses but cereals, or plant have a low level of sensitivity. Do you know plants have also senses?

To balance the nature or natural ecosystem, there is a food chain that makes the food web, where one living things depend on others.

Variation of Human Taste

Humans are so clever that they eat the meat of only those animals which fit their taste. So, people eat the meat of some or few animals while some eat other than previous animals, I mean to say that if some eat muton only, some eat chicken only, some eat fish only, some eat mutton & fish, some like to eat rabbit and tortoise while some dislike tortoise and some dislike both. Some dislike eggs. Some like to eat the meat of buffalo while some dislike and so on.

Vegetarian eats meat?

Some vegetarian also eats egg and some eats fish. And moreover, they kept egg and fish in the category of a vegetarian while other yogis are against former yogi. In Hindu, there is one interesting word, “Hinsa”, used by Yogies and Rishies. And those Rishies or Yogis explained eating meat in terms of "hinsa". They told humans should not do hinsa. It seems true also. If we kill and cut animals for our food then those animals feel or experience pain depending on their development of sense organs. The more pain received by animal means greater hinsa.

So the cow is prayed as Goddess mother in the Hinduism. And there are plenty of beneficial points to prior supposition by Hindu. And hence  Hindu ignores and stands against cow eating. I don’t want to discuss more here about cow eating because we are discussing the whole flesh-eating.

It is not an issue whether you eat cow's flesh(beef) or not?; that depends on your choice, interest, and habit. But if you try to recognize, you will find cow is more sensitive cattle among eatable animals than others like buffalo, goat, sheep, etc. For instance, if some important things like human, or child, or some other smaller animals come on the way of a cow then cow saves one’s life and pass or cross without doing any harm. But there may be an opposite or rare case for buffalo, or pig, or other animals. In this way, the cow is more peaceful and natural than others in my point of view.

Eating Meat is Natural or unnatural?

So if we analyze in this way, then we can feel heartly that, heavier and more sensitive animals are a more natural or better lover of Nature. I mean closer to Nature or God if you believe in God then.
Hence we can tell an eating cow is unnatural than buffalo,
Eating buffalo is unnatural than Pig,
Eating Pig unnatural than Goat,
Eating Goat is unnatural than hen,
Eating a hen is unnatural than Fish,
Eating Fish is unnatural than Egg,
……….
………
Eating the alive plant  is unnatural than baby plant or seed,
Eating the baby plant is unnatural than the dead plant,
Eating unripened fruit is unnatural than ripen fruit.

And so on   …….

Do you know one thing? What we eat rice is baby of paddy and if you visualize deeply and feel heartly you will find each living cell has senses and natural as science.
And furthermore, if we visualize more deeply then we will find non-livings are also a supporter of nature.

So, What should we eat?

We have to eat anything just to survive our body naturally rather than panic the situation created around unnaturally.

In my opinion, there should not be a question arises about meat. But the question should be about the level of natural that people use to eat in their food rather than vegetarian or non-vegetarian.

Is there any relation or disturbance of cosmic and quantum energy within us and our surrounding to that type of energy possessed by the animal whose meat we use in our food?
